Account
A financial container where money is stored. Can be a bank account, wallet, credit card, investment account, or any place you track money. Learn more →

The classification of an account (Cash, Savings, Credit Card, Wallet, Investment, Loan, Other). Determines how the account behaves and is displayed. Learn more →

Balance
The amount of money in an account. Can be positive (you have money) or negative (you owe money, as with credit cards). Learn more →
Biweekly
A frequency meaning every two weeks (14 days). Results in 26 occurrences per year. Learn more →
C
Cash (Account Type)
An account type for physical currency - money in your wallet, at home, etc. Code: CA. Learn more →
Credit Card (Account Type)
An account type for credit cards. Balance is typically negative (representing debt). Code: CC. Learn more →
Creditor
In a transfer, the account receiving money (balance increases). Think of it as the account being "credited." Learn more →
Current Balance
The real-time balance of an account, automatically updated with every transaction. Learn more →

Daily
A frequency meaning every day. Results in 365 occurrences per year. Learn more →
Debtor
In a transfer, the account sending money (balance decreases). Think of it as the account being "debited." Learn more →
Deleted Account
An account that has been soft-deleted. It no longer appears in regular lists but can be viewed using the Status filter and restored if needed. All transaction history is preserved. Learn more →

Expense
Money spent from an account. Decreases the account balance. Learn more →
Export
Downloading transaction data as a CSV file for external analysis or backup. Learn more →

Filter
A way to narrow down transaction lists by criteria like date, account, person, or tag. Learn more →
Frequency
How often a recurring transaction repeats (Daily, Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly). Learn more →

Historical Balance
Monthly snapshots of account balances, allowing you to see how balances have changed over time. Learn more →

Income
Money received into an account. Increases the account balance. Learn more →
Initial Balance
The starting balance of an account on the date you begin tracking it. Forms the foundation for all balance calculations. Learn more →
Initial Date
The date from which you start tracking an account. All transactions should be on or after this date. Learn more →
Investment (Account Type)
An account type for investment holdings like stocks, mutual funds, or fixed deposits. Code: IN. Learn more →

Loan (Account Type)
An account type for loans taken (negative balance = debt) or loans given (positive balance = money owed to you). Code: LN. Learn more →

Monthly
A frequency meaning once per month. Results in 12 occurrences per year. The most common frequency for recurring transactions. Learn more →

Net Worth
The total of all account balances (including negative balances from credit cards and loans). Represents your overall financial position.
O
Other (Account Type)
An account type for accounts that don't fit other categories. Code: OT. Learn more →

Person
A household or group member whose transactions you track separately. Helps understand individual spending patterns within a family. Learn more →
Projected Balance
Expected future account balance based on current balance plus scheduled recurring transactions. Learn more →
Q
Quarterly
A frequency meaning every three months. Results in 4 occurrences per year. Learn more →

Recurring Expense
A template for expenses that happen regularly (rent, subscriptions, EMIs). Powers balance projections. Learn more →
Recurring Income
A template for income that arrives regularly (salary, rental income). Powers balance projections. Learn more →
Recurring Transaction
Any transaction template that repeats on a schedule. Includes recurring incomes, expenses, and transfers. Learn more →
Recurring Transfer
A template for transfers that happen regularly (monthly savings contributions). Powers balance projections. Learn more →
Remaining Recurrences
The number of times a recurring transaction will repeat before stopping. If not set, the transaction repeats indefinitely. Learn more →
Restore
The action of bringing back a soft-deleted record (like an account) to active status. Restored accounts retain all their historical data and transactions. Learn more →
S
Savings (Account Type)
An account type for bank savings accounts, checking accounts, and current accounts. Code: SB. Learn more →
Short Code
A two-letter abbreviation for account types (CA, SB, CC, WL, IN, LN, OT). Displayed in account labels for quick identification. Learn more →
Soft Delete
When a record (like an account) is marked as deleted but not permanently removed from the database. Soft-deleted accounts can be viewed using filters and restored if needed. Learn more →

Tag
A label attached to transactions for categorization. Enables filtering and analysis by category. Learn more →
Transaction
Any financial event that affects an account balance. Can be an income, expense, or transfer.
Transfer
Money moving between two accounts you own. Decreases one account and increases another; total net worth stays the same. Learn more →

User
The authenticated person using Arthalekha. All accounts and transactions belong to a user.

Wallet (Account Type)
An account type for digital wallets and payment apps (Google Pay, Paytm, etc.). Code: WL. Learn more →

Yearly
